This Emergency Warning is being issued for landslides in the Porepunkah area.
Act now - take actions immediately to protect your life and property.
What you should do: 
  • If you are inside and a landslide occurs, find cover in the section of the building that is furthest away from the approaching landslide and take shelter under a table or bench.
  • If you are outside and a landslide occurs, move quickly away from the likely path, keeping clear of embankments, trees, power lines and poles.
  • Stay away from the landslide - the slope may experience additional failures for hours to days afterwards.
  • Listen to your emergency broadcasters: ABC Local Radio, commercial radio and designated community radio stations, or SKY News Television.
Impacts in your area: 
  • The Great Alpine Road through Porepunkah is closed at Ovens DELWP and at the 2 km. sign between Bright and Porepunkah.
