Bangholme, Bonbeach, Carrum, Carrum Downs, Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Dandenong South, Edithvale, Lyndhurst, Patterson Lakes.
- There is a chemical gas leak at Eastern Treatment Plant. Alan Bird Drive, Bangholme
- Chlorine Gas is being released and is leaking into/travelling towards the Patterson Lakes, Carrum and Bonbeach Areas
- Emergency Services who are at the leak have reported that the situation is improved. The leak is now contained.
Anyone located in the area should move indoors. Close
all exterior doors, windows and vents and turn off heating and cooling systems.
What you should do: - The areas of Chelsea, Carrum, Bonbeach, Bangholme, Seaford and Carrum Downs are currently at risk and people are advised to avoid the area.
- If you are away from home do not return.
- If you are currently driving you should close the windows of your vehicle and turn off air conditioning.
- Close vents and fireplace flues. Close and lock doors and windows. Turn off your heating and cooling systems.
- Bring your pets indoors.

- You may see yellow/green smoke.
Weather conditions including low wind have resulted in a low lying hazardous plume. This is expected to clear in the next 3 hours.
