This Warning message is being issued for a landslide in the vicinity of Stanley Crescent and Capri Court, Mount Martha.
  • This Warning replaces the Emergency Warning issued at 4pm, Friday 28 March.
  • A landslide occurred in this area following a magnitude 5.4 earthquake at Mount Martha.
  • Residents were recommended to evacuate - it is now not safe to return.
  • It is not safe to be in this area. Further landslides may still occur due to rainfall.
  • There are relief centres open at
  • 1 Tooradin Street, Tooradin
  • 1 Cribb Point Road, Cribb Point
  • There are other Watch and Act messages current due to this incident. Stay informed via VicEmergency.
Do not return to Mount Martha between Esplanade and Churchill Road. The ground can continue to move for days after the landslide.
What you should do: 
  • Stay away from the landslide - the slope may experience additional failures for hours to days afterwards.
  • Travel using recommended routes.
  • Plan your trip in advance - travel may take longer due to closed roads and poor driving conditions.
  • Listen to emergency broadcasters: ABC Local Radio, commercial radio and designated community radio stations, or SKY NEWS Television.
Impacts in your area: 
  • You cannot return to this warning area. Police have closed roads and restricted access.
  • Capri Court and Stanley Crescent are closed.
