This Emergency Warning is being issued for landslides in the Kalomara area.
Act now - take actions immediately to protect your life and property.
What you should do: 
  • If you are inside and a landslide occurs, find cover in the section of the building that is furthest away from the approaching landslide and take shelter under a table or bench.
  • If you are outside and a landslide occurs, move quickly away from the likely path, keeping clear of embankments, trees, power lines and poles.
  • Stay away from the landslide - the slope may experience additional failures for hours to days afterwards.
  • Listen to your emergency broadcasters: ABC Local Radio, commercial radio and designated community radio stations, or SKY News Television.
  • Listen for unusual sounds that might indicate moving debris, such as trees cracking.

Impacts in your area: 
  • Damage may have been caused to homes, buildings and infrastructure  by fallen earth, rocks, debris or trees.
  • The following roads are closed due to the landslide. Mount Dandenong Tourist Road between Browns and Inverness Road, Inverness Road North of Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, Lookout Road, Blackerston Track and Scenic Crescent.
  • Communities may become isolated due to blocked or damaged roads.
