  • A landslide has occured on the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road at Kalorama
If you are in Mount Dandenong-Tourist Road Kalorama, you are in danger. Avoid the area and stay away from the landslide.

What you should do: 

Do not re-enter damaged buildings, including your home, until authorities tell you it is safe to do so.

If more landslides happen, stay safe by taking the following actions. 

If you become trapped under debris: 
  • Do not light a match.
  • Stay as still as possible and cover your mouth with a handkerchief or clothing.
  • Tap on a pipe or wall so rescuers can find you. Shout only as a last resort.
Inside:
  • Move to the part of building that is as far as possible from the approaching landslide and take shelter under a table or bench.
Driving:
  • Travel using recommended routes.
  • Know your travel routes as travel may take longer due to closed roads and poor driving conditions.
Outdoors:
  • Move away quickly and keep clear of steep slopes, trees, powerlines and poles.
Impacts in your area: 

The following roads are closed because of a landslide: 

  • Mount Dandenong-Tourist Road between        Browns Road and Inverness Road.
  • Inveness Road North of Mount Dandenong Tourist Road
  • Lookout Road
  • Blackerson Road
  • Scenic Cresent.
